Kilcar Fleadh - Féile Ceoil Chill Chartha

The Kilcar Fleadh is a 5-day festival of traditional music, songs and dance, celebrating the living heritage of traditional music in South West Donegal, with something for all the family. Events will include concerts, ceili, a crossroads dance, a heritage & craft display and 'Echos in the Glen' – a music recital featuring fiddles and pipes in the Gleann a'Bhaile Dubh, recreating a tradition from the first half of the 20th century. Workshops will take place in the fiddle, accordion, guitar, singing, the tin whistle, and Irish language & dancing.
Ballyshannon Folk Festival

The 37th annual Ballyshannon Folk and Traditional Music Festival is the place to be next August Bank Holiday Weekend (Thursday 31st July – Sunday 3rd August 2014) as the sounds of traditional & folk music echo from the streets, pubs and theatre once again. One of Ireland’s longest running festival, this promises to be a great weekend for all the family.

Muff Festival 2014 welcomes you to a feast of family fun, sports, spectacle, live music and dance. This four day extravaganza hosts a veritable galaxy of daft competitions, street partying, parades and pageants. From the festival parade to the final flourish, an eclectic programme of over 30 events is staged over the August Bank Holiday weekend. With festival queens, floral displays, flag waving, falconry, a soapbox derby, 'it's a knockout' and lorry pulling, there is something for everyone.
BeatlesFest on the Lough

Beatles Fest on the Lough is returning to the delightful small town of Moville, on the salmon fishing sea lough of Lough Foyle, for its 8th year running. Once again this festival promises four days of Beatles music, indoors and out.

Loinneog Lúnasa is a traditional music and cultural festival celebrating the rich heritage of Gaoth Dobhair and surrounding areas. There are few areas in Ireland that can boast such a wealth of internationally renowned musical acts - Enya, Clannad, Mairead Ní Mhaonaigh and Altan and of course Brendan de Gaillí who has danced his way around the world with River dance.

Mary Black Concert

For the last quarter-century, singer Mary Black has been a dominant presence in Irish music, both at home and abroad. She has shared stages, TV shows and recording studios with some of the most revered performers of her time. She has also played a frontline role in bringing Irish music, past and present, to an increasingly appreciative and ever-growing global audience. The San Francisco Chronicle has described her as "One of the best interpretative singers around". A Taste of Donegal has established itself as a must attend event in the North West. The festival brings together top restaurants, hotels and food, drink and lifestyle product providers in a beautiful tented village on the pier. With the backdrop of the Blue Stack Mountains and Donegal Bay, this is the perfect venue in which exhibitors can showcase and sell their products to customers who are passionate about food and drink.

HERITAGE WEEK IN COUNTY DONEGAL

Donegal Marathon, the first in Donegal in over 30 years, is aimed at all levels of runners with the option of either a full or a half marathon.
Starting and finishing in Letterkenny, the route will take you through scenic and picturesque landscapes. Ferguson World Record Attempt

Venue: An Grianan Estate, Burt, Co. Donegal
The Ferguson World Record Attempt will see participants try to break 3 world records. It is a two day event which includes a vintage show and family fun day. The first of the World Record breaking attempts is to have as many Pre-1984 Fergusons working the soil at the one time. The current record is 385 and is held in Australia. The second record attempt is to have the most Pre-1984 Fergusons 135s working the soil at the one time; and the third attempt is the most Pre-84 Fergusons to form the Massey Ferguson logo. Over the two days, there will be a family day, vintage show, stalls and various other activities happening. There will also be a dance in the halfway house with Trevor Loughery on the Saturday at 9pm. All money raised on the day will go to the Sean O Hare Unit, Stranorlar who support people with special needs.
WAINFEST ARTS AND BOOK FESTIVAL

Wainfest is an annual art festival for children which feature a variety of forms including literature, artistic pursuits and drama workshops across County Donegal.
Events include science, music and art workshops, exhibitions, storytelling and puppet shows as well as many more fun filled activities.

CRANA CANOE WEEKEND

This event is the second biggest event in Ireland after its first year running and the only one of its kind.
The Crana Canoe Weekend will bring a large number of paddlers from as far away as Cork and even England and beyond as people have contacted us from as far away as Canada.
